A breathtaking city loaded with spectacular sites. Start with the Historic Peninsula and continue with the Bosphorus, Golden Horn, Pera, Galata and Asian side districts.

One of the most spectacular ancient cities in the world, the Greco-Roman city of Ephesus and its historically rich surroundings can be visited as a 1 or 2-day trip from Istanbul. The nearest airport in Izmir is about one-hour flight from Istanbul.
The resort town of Kusadasi, a major cruise ship port is only 15 minutes from Ephesus.
Bodrum has simply everything: ancient ruins, jet-set homes, night life, pristine beaches and yachting.
It is only 40 minutes away from the nearest airport. It can be the final destination of a 5 or 6-day road trip starting from Istanbul or can be visited along with some other fantastic places nearby such as Ephesus.
One of the most famous sites in Turkey, Pamukkale literally means "Cotton Castle." It can be visited as a day-trip or as a 2-day tour from Kusadasi or Bodrum.
It can also be visited during a road trip towards the south. Denizli Airport is about 50 min. away.
Pergamon is about 2 hours to the north from Ephesus. It can be visited as a day-trip from Izmir. The surrounding area produces one of the highest quality of olive oils in the world.
It can also be visited as part of the road trip from Istanbul down south. Nearby towns of Ayvalik and Cunda should not be missed.
Assos is about an hour away from Troy, Gallipoli and the Dardanelles.
Don't miss the fabulous hilltop villages of Adatepe and Yesilyurt on the legendary Mount Ida, where Zeus watched the Trojan War and where Hera, Aphrodite and Athena appeared before Paris, Prince of Troy.
Troy is about 330 km from Istanbul. Nearby the city of Canakkale. Gallipoli, a major site of WWI and Dardanelles Straight are nearby. Canakkale is located right by the Straight and offers nice accomodation options.
Can be visited as part of the road trip from Istanbul towards the South.
2 hours from Istanbul, can be visited as a day-trip. Beautiful vineyards on the way can be visited. A fabulous Old City loaded with historic monuments, including the Selimiye Mosque, an Ottoman masterpiece, and one of Europe's largest synagogues.
