The Golden Horn area hosts some of the most interesting districts of Istanbul, namely Fener, Balat and Ayvansaray. The place where the old and the new, the splendor and the dilapidated, the abstract and the concrete are so intertwined and somehow creates a unique character with a rich neighborhood culture.

Behind the colorful people there are mosques, synagogues, churches, holy springs, tombs, minority schools and thousand-year-old plane trees.
